Karen Storey is our local artist that has follpowed her passion of weaving.
She is of Whakatohea descent – Hapu os Nagai Tamahaua-Opape.
She was tutored by Rokahuriha Cameron and has a diploma in Maori Arts=Raranga. Shes weaves using flax from the flax grown on her property in the Wainui Bay of Plenty area.
The feathers are sourced from birds that have roamed freely on her property.
